
Hilary Thompson
1947-01-01 2003-10-01HAMILTON SQUARE -- Hilary Thompson, 56, passed away Sunday after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Columbus, OH, she grew up in Redlands, CA and attended the Ohio State University where she obtained a B.A. in English in 1969. After college, she moved to Yardley, PA, where she met her future husband, Stewart. After spending many happy years at their home in Trenton, she moved to Hamilton Square, where her family currently resides.
Hilary taught elementary school at Blessed Sacrament School for 20 years and most recently, first and second grade at Pace Charter School in Hamilton. She was also a volunteer for Angel's Wings at St. Francis Medical Center and a communicant of St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, Hamilton Square.
Devoted wife and mother, Hilary is survived by her husband of 32 years, Stewart Thompson; two daughters, Stephanie M. Thompson of Baltimore, MD and Amanda L. Thompson of Pittsburgh, PA; her parents, Robert R. and Clare Rowlands of Athens, GA; and her sister, Susan R. Welch of Destin, FL. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Friday from the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 716 Bellevue Ave., Trenton.
Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hamilton Township.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the Thompson residence 5-9 p.m. Thursday.
