OBITUARY
John Russell Hurst John Russell Hurst, 69, of Redlands, California passed away peacefully in the hospital surrounded by his family on April 21st, 2017. John graduated in 1965 from Redlands High School, enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam. He worked as a police officer and detective for the San Bernardino Police Department. In 1985 he began working for San Bernardino County as a Welfare Fraud Investigator, eventually becoming the Chief Investigator. After retiring he volunteered at Redlands Community Hospital and enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and friends, and riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his wife Jackie Hurst, daughter Claire Hurst, son Daniel Hurst, and daughter Janice Nollar. John was a friend to all and a devoted family man. A memorial service will be held on May 12th, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Burrage Mansion, 1205 W. Crescent Ave, Redlands, 92373. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside in John Hurst’s name.
