Richard Alan Cater, of Redlands, passed away on Sept. 27, 2017.
He was born Nov. 20, 1946 in Redlands.
Richard was mechanically inclined from an early age and was well known for his repairing and rebuilding of automobiles and bicycles. He attended Redlands High School and lived in Redlands his entire life. In high school he worked at Clifford’s Bicycle Shop on Citrus Avenue and later on Colton Avenue. Richard also worked for 35 years as a diesel mechanic for the Redlands School District.
In his younger years, he was an outdoorsman, avid fisherman and hunter, like his father.
Richard will truly be missed by his family and friends but he leaves them with fun filled memories, laughs and love.
He is survived by his grandsons, Zachary and Gregory; granddaughters, Chelsey and Jessica; five great grandsons; his sweetheart of 23 years, Betty Cummings; sister, Shirley Corbitt and brother, Wesley Cater.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Bertha Cater.
Memorial services will be private.
