A librarian with the Los Angeles County Public Library System for over 20 years, died in Los Angeles on April 6, 2005. Ms. Nance was born in Redlands, California, on October 8, 1947. Following graduation from Redlands High School, she attended the University of Redlands, graduating "with distinction" in 1969 with a B.A. degree in sociology and music. She earned her Master of Library Science, specializing in music librarianship, from UCLA in 1978. An amateur violinist and pianist, Ms. Nance was a supporter of various musical organizations, including Music for Remembrance. She also volunteered at the Museum of Tolerance. Ms. Nance is survived by her twin sister, Greta Nance Morris, a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, and several cousins. A service in her memory will be held on Thursday, April 14, at 3:30 p.m. at the Hope Lutheran Church of Hollywood, 6720 Melrose Ave. Private interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Redlands, next to the final resting place of her parents, Kendall Wheeler Nance and Gretchen Wiesemore Nance.
